Home

Sugar was less than excited to see me, mad at me for leaving her or exhausted from an excellent dog sitter, but I am happy be home.

On our way home

So glad we are on the train and not in the line of cars waiting to get into the US. Canada was great, but we are stateside again. Back in Portland in 7 hours.

Victoria

Yesterday was an all about Victoria and Butchart Gardens. We spent lots of time on the tour bus and a little on ferries, but we got some time to see the Parliament building, have lunch at the Empress hotel, and I found an independent bookstore. Then, it was Christmas lights and hot cocoa at Butchart Gardens.

Whistler was....

It started out great and the spa was beautiful, but the people were rude and the village was busy and crowded. Our driver on the way up was a great guy though. Definitely a bright spot. I would come again, maybe stay overnight and not at Christmas. Way too crazy crowded.

Yummy Chinese food

Serving up some yummy Chinese delivered right to the hotel.

Meanwhile back in PDX...Sugar

Sugar and I got a sitter with some mad photo skills. Enjoying her check-ins. It’s nice to know my baby is having fun and fully enjoying my new mattress and pillow. 😊🐾❤️

Vancouver (a bit) on Boxing Day

Portland weather today in Vancouver but we still ventured out to explore. We found our pickup spot for the Whistler trip tomorrow and saw some amazing gingerbread houses while at the Hyatt. Then, we took the Skytrain to China town. We saw the Millennium Gate and hit a pretty seedy dive bar before heading home for an afternoon of rest. No matter where I travel, it’s a must to take mass transit and to hit a dive bar. Check and check. Because of Boxing Day, not too many restaurants are open, so we came back to the hotel and ordered Chinese. Whistler tomorrow.
